Coverage
1-year limited warranty on materials and workmanship for all trailer parts manufactured or installed by SME
Vendor-supplied components (axles, jacks, floors, and similar parts) follow the original manufacturer’s warranty terms
Client-specified materials or components not recommended by SME are not covered
SME reserves the right to modify or improve products covered under this warranty
Exclusions
Wear-and-tear parts — bearings, brakes, hoses, seals, bulbs, tires, batteries, suspension (manufacturer’s warranty may apply)
Weather and exposure damage — rust, corrosion, staining
Damage from cargo, collision, or accidents
Extended exposure to caustic or corrosive materials
Conversion components installed by any party other than SME
Damage resulting from an act of God
All graphic and color reprints must be physically reviewed and approved. Any reprints not physically reviewed and approved are excluded from warranty coverage.
Warranty Termination
Overloading or improper weight distribution
Collision or other accident
Unlawful or negligent operation
Failure to follow SME’s recommended maintenance schedule or operating procedures
Unauthorized structural modification or repair
Filing a Claim
Contact SME before starting any repairs and provide a written report of the damage or defect
Only repairs necessary to prevent further damage may proceed beforehand
SME determines coverage and directs where repairs or replacement will be made
Third-party repairs require advance approval from an authorized SME representative
Freight and transportation costs to or from the service center, to SME facility, or SME rep travel to market are the purchaser’s responsibility
Other Terms and Conditions
This warranty is non-transferable by the purchaser
Purchaser certifies inspection and acceptance of the trailer at delivery
Excludes implied warranties of merchantability and fitness, plus incidental or consequential damages
If your customer chooses to register a trailer or tagged unit in another state SME requires proof of tax payment
Coverage may extend to multiple years when the exhibit system is operated exclusively by SME.
SME builds to the industry professional/safety standards, but venue or State specific requirements vary and absolute compliance everywhere cannot be guaranteed. In these instances additional costs may be incurred for consultation or documentation specific to the request.
